Whether people pay too little, too much or downright don’t pay anything at all – it’s clear that not everyone agrees when it comes to the subject of tipping.
And, for one Domino’s driver, this was no exception as she revealed just how much she earns a day delivery pizzas door-to-door. Check it out:
People all over social media have jumped on the trend of sharing with followers exactly how much money they make in a day at their jobs.
Hopping on the bandwagon, Domino’s driver Milena, took it upon herself to quantify every single drop-off she does alongside the tip – if any – she receives along the way.
Heads up – it’s already caused outrage on the internet.
She captioned the three-minute-long clip: “Tbh this was so much fun.”
The driver began by explaining a new system that Domino’s have started rolling out regarding selfies of all things.
She explained that the company calls its customers ‘friends’ and a new ‘friends first’ competition asks staff to try and take selfies with their ‘friends’.
Milena added: “If we get so many wildcards, we get different rewards.”
The rewards in question include iPads and a day off work among other gifts.
She then began relaying the interactions she had with each customer – or ‘friend’ – explaining the amount of money she received as a tip alongside whether or not they agreed to take a selfie with her.
Many of which did not tip at all.
One of their US branches outlines that drivers earn $10 an hour and are expected to make three deliveries before hour.
They explain an ‘average’ tip per delivery is $2 – giving them an hourly tip rate of $6 which then bumps up their hourly earnings to $16 an hour.
After having worked a six-hour shift, in which she made 19 separate deliveries, Milena reported that she earned $125 in tips.
The first TikTok of the series has since received over half a million views and thousands of comments from people eager to weigh in on her daily earnings.
Many were outraged at the ‘no-tippers’ with one TikTok user posting: “I am honestly so shocked why people aren’t tipping? That’s like common knowledge to tip pizza delivery.”
“Im surprised on how many people don’t tip their delivery drivers,” a second added.
“I would be embarrassed not tipping,” a fourth revealed, “what’s wrong with people?”
Compared to the customers in the video, many began to wonder if they’ve been over-tipping this whole time.
“I realised today I’m a really good tipper cause I definitely tip more for less than these,” one TikTok user admitted.
Another questioned: “Why are people not tippers or tipping so low. I never tip less then $10.”
“Here I am ordering just 1 pizza and tipping $10,” chimed in a third.
Others, however, commended Milena’s positive attitude when handling such customers.
Someone wrote: “I love your attitude whatever the outcome! It’s so refreshing.”
